Cargill's Priolube™ EF synthetic ester product brand offers high quality, low viscosity, low traction base oils that meet the performance requirements of next generation electric vehicles. Ideal for formulating next-generation transmission, e-axle and motor fluids. 

We also offer Perfad™ shear stable, traction reducing thickeners for increasing fluid viscosity without impacting efficiency.

Priolube™ EF

Low viscosity, fully synthetic dielectric ester base oils, especially suitable for formulating low viscosity lubricants for EV transmissions and e-axles. 

Benefits include:

  • Outstanding low traction performance: Improving drivetrain efficiency
  • Low viscosity: Reduce churning losses without increasing wear
  • Superior loading capacity: Formulations pass load stage 8 in the FZG A10/16.6R/90 test
  • Excellent material compatibility: Compatible with insulation materials, elastomers, copper and passes the ASTM D6082 foaming test

Perfad™

Unique co-base fluids which reduce traction and wear in a group III, IV or V-based formulations while thickening and increasing viscosity index. These fluids are suitable for replacing PAO 100 and standard high viscosity esters.

Benefits include:

  • Traction reduction: Reduces traction coefficient by up to 32% vs a PAO 100 thickened formulation
  • Thickening power: Offers an efficient thickening effect to maintain film
  • Shear stable: Does not impact viscosity in the KRL shear loss test (20 hours, 40°C
