July 16, 2025, Beijing — The 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) officially opened today in Beijing. As a global leader in agriculture and food, Cargill marked its third consecutive year of participation, showcasing its diverse supply chain solutions once again in the Green Agriculture Chain Zone. Through an immersive booth experience, Cargill systematically demonstrated its end-to-end supply chain capabilities enabled by global-local synergy, highlighting its pioneering practices and long-term commitment to enhancing supply chain resilience and advancing the sustainability of the global food system.
"The CISCE serves not only as a vital platform for industrial collaboration but also as a catalyst for global supply chain innovation and sustainability," said Penne Kehl, Asia Pacific Group President of Cargill Agriculture and Trading. "As a key player in global supply chains, Cargill remains dedicated to connecting China with the world through safe, efficient and sustainable full-chain solutions. We engage deeply in every phase ‘from field to fork,’ empowering synergistic growth across the agricultural and food value chain."
Digital Technologies + Panoramic Integration, Bringing an Immersive Journey Across the Supply Chain
At this year's CISCE, Cargill's booth leverages multi-digital technologies and panoramic integration to transform the agricultural and food supply chain into a visual, tangible, and interactive journey. This immersive experience vividly illustrates Cargill's end-to-end connectivity across the entire value chain.
The exhibition area combined a life-like ocean-shipping scene with CISCE mascot Linky, delivering an upbeat, tech-driven visitor experience. Step-through exhibits placed visitors inside real grain-supply-chain moments, showing how Cargill sources, stores, processes and delivers grain worldwide—while spotlighting green shipping and next-gen food innovation. Further enhancing the sensory experience, professional chefs prepared premium Australian beef on-site, allowing visitors to savor the exceptional quality enabled by Cargill’s global supply chain. The booth also featured Cargill’s comprehensive product portfolio and integrated solutions in agriculture, food, and pet nutrition sectors.
Forging a More Resilient Future for Food and Agriculture through Full-chain Collaboration
Cargill is steadily building a more resilient and sustainable agri-food supply chain through forward-looking global reach and deep local engagement. At this year’s expo, the company spotlights end-to-end collaboration across the entire value chain, highlighting green integration, digitalization, smart technologies and innovation in food processing and more.
Upstream, Cargill starts in the fields of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, sourcing soybeans through the independently certified TripleS™ (Sustainably Sourced & Supplied) program that guarantees zero deforestation and zero native-vegetation loss. The soybeans are processed into deforestation-free meal and oil for the China market. At the same time, Cargill is deepening its on-the-ground commitment in China by advancing a sustainable domestic corn supply chain. The company trains local growers in water-and-fertilizer-integrated practices and then buys their corn under forward contracts, channeling it into Cargill’s corn-processing network. This delivers greener food ingredients to customers in China and worldwide while improving the sustainable use of farmland, water and other natural resources.
Mid-stream, efficient local processing and logistics systems are vital to keep the supply chain running. Cargill operates six oilseed and oil processing plants in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei and Shandong, forming a regionally integrated network for raw-material processing, storage and transport. Among them, the oilseeds & oil processing facility in Hebei (Hebei Jiahao Grain and Oil Co., Ltd.)—Cargill’s second-largest worldwide—crushes 3.3 million tonnes of soybeans a year, delivering meal, bulk oil and packaged oil on demand. Cargill’s Songyuan, Jilin site is the company’s largest corn-processing hub in Asia, turning raw corn into starch, high-fructose syrup, feed and more. A global ocean-shipping fleet and last-mile road transport connect these plants to customers everywhere, while renewable-energy systems and new-energy heavy trucks cut emissions, strengthening both supply-chain stability and Cargill’s decarbonisation goals.
Downstream, Cargill drives continuous innovation across the industrial chain by closely linking the supply chain layout of "field to fork". Leveraging Innovation Centers in Shanghai and Beijing alongside its Asia-Pacific R&D network, Cargill translates global expertise and market insights into solutions for China and the world. Its portfolio spans plant-based foods, dairy, foodservice ingredients and more, anchoring the next wave of industry innovation.
Lily Guan, President of Cargill China, stated: "At Cargill, we firmly believe that a resilient and sustainable supply chain is not just about connection—it’s about collaboration, development, and innovation. As China’s market advances toward high-quality growth, Cargill will leverage its global supply chain expertise and local operational strengths to join forces with partners in building a future of food that is higher-quality, more sustainable, and more resilient—for China and the whole world."
